Thank you to the Oleson Foundation
We are humbled and grateful to have received a $10,000.00 donation from The Oleson Foundation to support our six school food pantries. Our model is different in that students can access fresh food on a daily basis if needed. Transportation can be a barrier for families who otherwise would have to drive to a local food pantry. Thank you Oleson’s for your confidence and support for the work that we do.
Maverick After School Program!
The students at TC High are enjoying the opportunity to gather for a hot meal, games and art activities during the Maverick After-School program!

Our volunteers are back to delivering fresh food to our school pantry locations!
Did you know that many families ( 38% ) experience food insecurity in our region? Step Up Northern Michigan takes a unique approach by supporting 6 local food pantries located within schools. We partner with @Food Rescue of Northern Michigan and the Northwest Food Coalition to purchase local farmer produce and groceries so that our most vulnerable students have access to food on a daily basis.
